Hand in Hand Cumbrae Weekend

Fully equipped Arts+Crafts Suite, makes this a modern learning environment.
AVAILABLE FOR HIRE for price and availability...

My weekend away with Hand in Hand was brilliant. We went to an outdoor centre on the Isle of Cumbrae for two nights. The activities we did were Kayaking, Windsufring, Cycling and Power Boating. The instructors at teh centre were kind and really helpful.
On the Friday night some of us went a walk to the 'Viewing Point' so that we could see round the whole island from one spot.
I loved the activities we did because I love wet activities, but I didn't like when we had to put wetsuits on.

Cluster Support Volunteer Co-ordinator

Terri Bell has recently started working with Z1 Girls Group in the new role of Cluster Support Volunteer Co-ordinator and is based within Z1 Youth Bar. Terri will primarily be working with 4 cluster groups who are: Z1 Girls Group, Oasis Youth Group, Kidz Klub and The Glendoune Association.
Terri is looking to expand the current cluster group and would urge any local voluntary groups who would like support in relation to developing and recruiting volunteers to get in touch.
In addition to supporting existing volunteers, Terri is also keen to recruit new volunteers. If you can spare a few hours per week, would like to get out the house and meet new people, learn new skills or pass on existing skills to young people or other volunteers, thenTerri would love to hear from you!
Terri can be contacted by calling 01465 714729, emailing or by calling into Z1 Youth Bar.
This project is funded until 31st March 2015 by The Voluntary Action Fund.

Upcoming Events

Wednesday 11th June

Girvan Youth Trust AGM

Friday & Saturday nights at Z1 Youth Bar are put on hold until September in order to let our Summer Programme run.

An up to date list of events will be posted once they are confirmed.

Girvan Boating Pond

This Easter saw a new team of 12 young people from Z1 gain employment under the service level agreement between Girvan Youth Trust and South Ayrshire Council in which the Trust will manage and operate Girvan Boating Pond and Putting Green during this year’s summer season.
The team made up of trained lifeguards and first aiders were thrown in at the deep end as this year’s opening was extremely busy due to the excellent weather we had this Easter.
Over the 3 days the Pond was open some 538 people had fun on the pond soaking up the sunshine safe in the knowledge that there were qualified lifeguards and first aiders in attendance at all times maintaining a safe environment for families to enjoy themselves.....

Easter Sports Youth Club

During the Easter holidays Girvan Youth Trust ran a 3 day Easter Sports Youth Club for young people aged P6 – 18 years old. The event was run in partnership with South Ayrshire Community Sports Hub, South Ayrshire CLD and Girvan Academy.
Over the course of the three days 101 different young people attended and joined in on over 10 taster sessions ranging from Circuits and Muay Thai to Rugby and Zumba!
Plans are currently in motion to run similar sports events over the Summer with a three day taster session at the beginning of July followed by 1 day a week through the rest of the Summer holidays......
